Wild Care Agro Action (WCAA)

Wild Care Agro Action (WCAA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in December 2023. Our mission is to support Ethiopia’s most vulnerable populations by addressing hunger, poverty, and wildlife conservation challenges. Founded by a group of young professionals from various backgrounds, WCAA focuses on empowering pastoral and agro-pastoral communities, driving sustainable solutions to alleviate suffering, and improving lives in the face of human and climate-induced catastrophes. We believe in a community-driven approach that promotes the protection of wildlife, environmental sustainability, and the enhancement of livelihoods.

About Our organization

Our Story

WCAA was created out of a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the underdeveloped communities in Ethiopia. Our founders, with extensive experience in humanitarian and emergency sectors, recognized the need for a new approach to tackle the pressing issues facing agro-pastoralist populations. We are driven by the belief that the communities themselves hold the key to creating lasting solutions.

What We Do

We focus on promoting food security, stopping illegal wildlife trade, enhancing gender equality, and building resilient communities through climate change adaptation and emergency response. Our efforts aim to foster sustainable development while safeguarding Ethiopia’s rich biodiversity and natural resources.

Our Commitment

At WCAA, we are committed to empowering communities to take control of their futures. By improving livelihoods, promoting sustainable wildlife conservation, and facilitating access to education, health, and clean water, we work to create a world where dignity and security are accessible to all.

Our Vision

We envision a world of hope, inclusion, and social justice where all people live with dignity, and wildlife and ecosystems are protected.

Our mission is to defeat poverty, protect Ethiopia’s wildlife from illegal trade, and ensure sustainable development across East Africa.

Livelihood and food security, wildlife protection, climate change adaptation, gender empowerment, and emergency response.

We are led by a team of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, unified by a common goal of bringing about positive change in Ethiopia.

Integrity, innovation, and a commitment to inclusivity guide all of our actions as we work toward a better future for Ethiopia and beyond.
